Search Engine Optimization (SEO) has always been a hidden treasure for many internet marketers because most of them would not achieve even a small share of it and therefore treasure remains a treasure, always.I know most of the search engine optimizers who are reading this blog would not agree with me but I would like to ask them if they have been successful ever in achieving and maintaining the positions for their websites consistently.
Most of them would say ‘No’; the reason being that there are lots of updates & changes in the search engines algorithms on a regular basis, especially in Google which affects the rankings tremendously. But no matter what the updates are, if the SEO activities are done in an ethical manner, there wouldn’t be any fluctuations in the keyword rankings at all.
In this blog post, I will share a few SEO activities which are evergreen and will never let you down, no matter its the year 2013 or 2014:
Choosing Keywords:
Never try to focus on a handful set of keywords and keep your target area so small that you always keep trying to hit the point and have never been successful in doing so. Instead, diversify your keywords and start enjoying the benefits of long tail keywords as well (believe me, they are not really bad). You must always produce secondary keywords based on your primary keywords and use them in your content, links, etc. You will see astonishing results over a period of time.
Forget about keyword density:
I am not trying to break the rule but really when you think about the keyword density of your content, you end up writing an essay that seems to be written by a school kid. When you write something, just pay attention to the subject matter of your article or blog and never think about the keywords. Adding a couple of keywords would be a good idea to increase the chances of getting ranked in search engines but at the same time when you think too much about the usage of the keywords, it spoils the flow of the whole write-up and cause your readers to lose interest in it.
Content is king:
No matter whether you are doing SEO in the year 2013 or 2014, the content will always be king so you must pay special attention to it. Even if your website has lots of information on it but there is no quality content, your website will never rank on the search engines. Rather it will lose its reputation among search engines and let you down in the future also. So just try to have quality and original content on your website so that it will pay you off in long run. Content marketing is one of the best SEO activities that your SEO expert can do for your online business.
Content Diversity:
Gone are the days when search engine optimizers used to submit the content in selected article directories hundreds of times just for the sake of participation and getting links from them. Now, it doesn’t work at all and will never work in the future as well. It would be a good idea to diversify the content syndication in various mediums which will keep not only search engines happy, but your users will also be delighted to find your brand in several sources. Let me add here, don’t go for automated submissions ever, it will spoil your other SEO efforts and will increase the chances of getting recognition of a ‘spammer’ for your website.
Get Social:
New but long-lasting activity for SEO. The more you contribute towards various social platforms, the more would chances of getting quality traffic to your website as well as noticeable positions on search engines. But don’t just participate for the sake of showing that you are alive and want to tell your daily habits to your community, rather try to share some useful information with your followers. It will really pay you off in long run by building trust and credibility for your business.
